Statement from our managing director

Managing Director John Hayes has over 19 years’ experience in electrical contracting. JHCS was founded out of a passion and commitment to constructing the future by supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects and programmes.

Our track record of excellence in delivery and health and safety has seen us claim a leading position in the Industry and we currently serve an extensive and growing customer base across many different sectors including: commercial, data centres, healthcare, renewables and residential.

Our company is equipped with multiple teams of skilled jointers and cable installers who are able to undertake any job in the United Kingdom. Our group is comprised of a cohesive group of skilled professionals who are passionate about the quality of our work.

Health & Safety

How do we stay safe?

Thorough and detailed site-specific method statements and risk assessments are carefully created for all activities to ensure that they are executed safely and responsibly. Subsequently, all workers participating in the project affix their signatures to these documents.

On a daily basis, safety briefings are carried out at the start of every workday to identify potential hazards and encourage appropriate upkeep of the workplace.

JHCS employs a comprehensive training matrix for its entire personnel, covering several elements including:

  • Certification as a safe contractor
  • Certification in First Aid & All Fleet vehicles carry first aid equipment
  • CSCS Card Holders
  • CCNSG Safety Passport
  • SMSTS Site Manager Safety Training
  • SSSTS Site Supervisor Safety Training
  • ECS Cards
  • Awareness and Entry Training for Confined Spaces with a medium risk level
  • Training in Safe Working at Height and Harness usage
  • Training in Manual Handling techniques
  • IPAF certification for operating scissor and boom lifts in categories 3a and 3b
  • Training on asbestos awareness
  • HV Sub-station access & awareness training
  • HV SAP
  • SPEN Competent “Persons”

Health & Safety

We don’t stop there…

Our organisation maintains an updated Health and Safety policy on an annual basis, which encompasses the following supplementary training:

  1. Operatives get training in medium-risk restricted environments.
  2. All operatives undergo regular training in Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness, and Manual Handling.
  3. Prior to assigning new assignments, all operatives receive task-specific tool box talks.

Our organisation conducts routine safety inspections and obtains certifications for all of our equipment.
