Salford Council Depot – LV Infrastructure & Substation Upgrade

JHCS were recently instructed to deliver a comprehensive LV infrastructure upgrade at the Salford Council Depot, enhancing the site’s electrical reliability and capacity.

Our scope of works included the installation of new underground cabling to supply existing buildings from a newly installed LV panel. This involved the design and installation of ladder racking, along with the fitting of an adaptable box on the new LV panel to accommodate the new cable entries.

Within the site’s substation, JHCS also installed a new lighting and power distribution board, upgrading the existing single-phase system to a modern three-phase supply to meet increased electrical demand and future-proof the facility.

All final connections were completed during a carefully programmed shutdown to minimise disruption to operations.

Following the safe removal of asbestos by a specialist contractor, JHCS carried out full testing, decommissioning, and removal of the redundant LV panel, ensuring the new installation was fully operational, safe, and compliant.

This project highlights JHCS’s capability in delivering complex LV infrastructure works safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
